Anybody still running early 2000s Rayburns and having success?

If you’re a veteran driver, with a meticulously maintained older ride, that’s stayed up on the updates, that’s totally different than a rookie going out there with some old heap off of racing junk. The second one, That’s like jumping off a cliff into 200 foot deep water with sharks with frickin’ laser beams on their heads.

If a guy’s on a super tight budget you could do something like this. Way better than an 01 or 02 anything. But know that that low price is there for a reason. Call Rocket or bring somebody that knows to verify those updates. You won’t win in this, but a top 10 wouldn’t be out of the question.

Find a straight or freshly clipped blue/gray. Send it to a Rocket dealer and have 19 updates put on it. Not very expensive. PM me for changes to the rear geometry. We have an 06 and an 11. The 11 we ran this year and it ran with and won against XR1's and Horns.

Wow, if old cars can't win locally then there's a whole bunch of stock car chassis sitting around.

I personally wouldn't go old Rayburn. It can't be updated to anything remotely recent to newer Rayburn plus nobody else running the swing arm to help you with setup. Another thing about car that old is tubing will rust from inside out and pop rivet holes likely. Suspension limitations the Rayburn biggest downfall on deal. If complete roller free then that's game changer. Run it, learn it, and enjoy

There is. My friend has a really nice, straight clean black front end and he can’t give it away.

Buddy just sold his 03 black front for 2500 at swap meet.


Problem is cars cost so much now that folks can't afford to change often. Chassis costs stupid outta control
