I just booked embassy suites across from the Dome on Thursday night, has anyone stayed there? We're staying at the casino Friday & Saturday, but I had Hilton Points and got off work Thursday so why not come down a day earlier.

Exactly t4g2..you jump on cross the Mississippi River ur there. Metro link i will say is dangerous but mostly going through north city St Louis heading to airport at night. When there are Cardinal games Blues games and like the dome race there's lots of people on it you dont have to worry about anything...and like you said you wont be on the train more than 5 minutes that's how short a ride it is from the casino queen to the dome...its literally right across the river.

The Casino queen, (which we around here refer to as the African queen) if you lived around here you'd know why lol, used to be an actual boat that cruised up and down the river while you gambled. I guess laws require it be on water, but they got wise and dug a huge mote so now it is an actual stationary building, but it and its hotel are (technically) on water...

You guys staying at the Queen will have a beautiful view of St Louis. I recommend trying out Sugarfire BBQ, you will have to walk right past it if you take the metro link to dome. You will walk up the steps and it's right there...

Illtstate32: Not sure on embassy used honors points, 50,000 points I think. I don't remember what we've paid at Lumiere but I know it's pretty pricey.

Got ya, ya I'm sure it's at least 150+ a night, but its ideal you can throw a rock and hit the dome from there, and a nice casino...

i've stayed at lumiere first 2 times, it's great location but as said very pricey (and it can get more costly staying at a casino). I see the racing doesn't start till 7pm on Friday that's different I believe.

I went on Hotels.com last night and got a room at Marriott St. Louis Grand for $106 somehow. Give it a shot!

Quick question for you veterans...it's my first time attending, what time frame can I expect to get out of the Dome on Fri. and Sat. night? Wondering if there's time to meet up with some friends from the area for a drink afterwards. Thanks!

I can't remember exactly but want to say around 10:30-11:00pm last year? I've gone every year and it's gotten better each year as far as end time goes.

If you're there mid-afternoon, the fumes will have you ready for bed pretty early..
