Noticed six or seven teams at Charlotte putting baby powder on their tires as they were washing and buffing them. What does that do and i guess it passes a tire test?

It acts as a natural lubricant. -
Like it was said it acts as a lubricant which enables the grooving iron to slide easier across the tire. I'm sure that it probably could show up in a tire test and if WRG felt the need to ruin your reputation and lable you a cheater they probably could.Comment

I use the baby powder when I buff my tires. I feel like it helps the grinder not to hang on the dry rubber and I feel like it keeps the rubber cooler and doesnt blister the rubber. Personally I dont think the baby powder would show in a tire test because its not liquid and doesnt soak in. When I was kart racing I used windex and it worked really well when buffing tires but I havent been brave enough to put it on late model tires because of testing.Comment
