    Maryville, Tennessee – Smoky Mountain Speedway has released the 2020 race schedule. As in past years, the historic 4/10-mile track will host a variety of special events throughout the season.

    The season gets kicked off on Saturday, March 7 with the 7th annual Tennessee Tip-Off featuring the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series where the winner will collect $12,000. There will also be an open practice on Friday, March 6. Jimmy Owens held off eventual series champion Brandon Sheppard to claim the race in 2019.

    The other national event takes place on Saturday; June 13 when the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series visits for the Mountain Moonshine Classic. The race will pay $15,000 to the winner. Hudson O’Neal won an exciting race in 2019 to join the long list of prestigious winners to visit the Smoky Mountain Speedway victory lane.

    The Southern All-Stars will make appearances on Friday, April 24 for the $5,000 to win Rockin’ with the Stars race, then helps cap off the 2020 season on Friday, October 12 and Saturday, October 13 with a pair of feature races to determine their series championship.

    Smoky Mountain will once again play host to the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals on Friday, July 10. It will be the first race for the Southern Nationals in 2020 and pay $10,000 to the winner.

    The American All-Star Crate Series, the Topless Outlaw Late Model Series, Iron-Man Late Model Series, and Schaeffer’s Oil Fall Nationals are also part of the 2020 race schedule.

    A total of nine events on eight weekends are on the 2020 schedule. Support divisions for all events will be announced soon. The successful points program for the limited late models and sportsman late models will return 2020.

    Smoky Mountain Speedway is coming off a successful 2019 season that saw many improvements made to the facilities and the racing surface itself. More changes will be in place for the start of the 2020 season including new restrooms for the grandstand area, paint, and grass in the infield to give a more pleasing looking to the speedway. Owner Roger Sellers is committed to bringing some of the best events to Smoky Mountain Speedway while continuing with improvements to make “America’s Special Event Late Model Track” one of the best in the region.
