I'll second that....it hasn't even been 4 weeks since his surgery. I have had several friends who have had their hip replaced and they all waited 6 weeks to drive a passenger car, and a good 8 weeks post surgery before they felt strong enough to perform normal life duties.... He is a tuff SOB. Hopefully he is not rushing his recovery and rehab.
