I still vote in every election, just not crazy about either party in general. If I had to hitch my wagon to any version of the parties it would be to more of a 70’s and 80’s working class populist Democratic candidate that ran on worker’s rights, common sense legislation, and were willing to reach across the aisle to find compromise. That part of the party died years ago, and is dead for both parties. The current Republican Party does not represent the working class, nor do the coastal Democrats. These clowns don’t work together, and gerrymandering, and news/national polarization ensure that they won’t. Hence, I’m not crazy about them. Individuals from both parties still get my local and state votes though. Your vote is yours, do whatcha wanna and I’ll do the same.

Spouting the “whaddabout insert x” is just ignoring the current situation and the current reality. Near as I can tell, the reason for the Democrats (and Republican Thomas Massie’s) holdups on the legislation were due to no oversight on how the corporate dollars were going to get doled out, and not tied to relief for the middle class and workers. Given that many of our large corporations have consistently behaved poorly, their hesitation makes sense. Better to take a day or two and make the bill better than to give away billions of your tax dollars and mine. Maybe at some point this stimulus money will fix some of our crumbling infrastructure.

t3r3e3 You made a statement in #99 saying Pres. Trump wasted weeks and misinformed the people about c-19. Well I blame China for hiding the virus for months, contamination of the whole world. You say you don't affiliate to any political party, but you still blame top government. And you commend state governors of Ohio and Kentucky for shutting down their state (both Republican govern states). New York City has 8.5 million people in a small area, the whole state of Ohio has 11millon, and Kentucky has 4.5 million. I do agree that we are all in this mess together, but politicians still play the blame game and so do the general public. Gov. Cuomo blames Trump for not giving them ventilators , but had a chance to buy 16,ooo in 2015 but didn't. New York spent 900million to build Tesla a plant in Buffalo to build electric cars and solar panels. WHY doesn't the Gov. tell them to build ventilators, masks, sheds .Because they are bankrupt and the plant is worth less than 50millon. Is that Trumps fault or the Gov. again a blame game. We as American can overcome almost any obstacle, except our own greed and selfishness.

China most definitely deserves some blame on this. Their cultural practices of eating all sorts of wild animals and holding them in unsanitary conditions where animals that normally would not congregate together are in cages next to each other is what got this ball rolling. Their hiding of information is straight out of the authoritarian playbook; they do it for everything. Thing is, we in the US can only control the US. You’re also right that we as Americans can overcome this. We’re a resilient bunch, and generally rise to the challenge. The trick is to harness that spirit for what comes next. When we get to the other side of this we have to bulk up our stockpiles, do a better job of following response plans we already had developed, take the naked politics out of it, and trust our disease folks more. It’s going to happen again. Humanity’s mobility and increasing population ensure that it’s only a matter of time.

Trump does deserve credit for restricting travel from China and like I said he was hoping to have churches filled by Easter but didn't say he was going to order that to be done. Your right he did screw up by not implementing the social distancing for the nation as a whole. He has made mistake but, something this big of a crisis I don't know who wouldn't but. you can count this President and this administration will never admit they were wrong on anything they do.

If you don't know how to use the right words on a subject to clearly get your point across , you probably should refrain from speaking on those subjects until you get a grasp on the words meanings.

It kind of matters.
