I didn't say that NYC has had 24k covid deaths. They have had 24k deaths in total over the past 39 days. Normally they would have slightly more than 6k in that same time period. There's no copy/paste errors in my numbers.

You are implying NYC has had over 24k deaths in last 39 days.....wrong........your implication is that somehow by backing out the normal 6k average deaths in the same time frame that the other 17k plus deaths are from covid....also wrong.

That's likely because we are undercounting Covid-19 deaths. We are seeing actual deaths exceeding expected deaths all over the world wherever there is a Covid-19 outbreak.

The problem with NYC is that they are not being honest with their numbers. They are counting deaths as coronavirus deaths even when the patient had no symptoms or had not been tested.

For example, you have a massive heart attack that requires you to be placed in ICU for 4-5 days or 2 weeks or whatever. Because all the ICU beds are full of coronavirus patients, you die. Your death is now listed as "due to coronavirus." Very dishonest.

What's likely is that you don't really understand the information you are so def at copying and pasting.......under reporting an amount that is almost twice the actual amount (according to your numbers) is preposterous .

NYC isn't miscounting their total number of deaths regardless of cause of death. All they have to do is report how many bodies show up at the morgue.

Check my math. The state public health department reports that an average of 146 people died per day in 2017. They also report that from March 11 - April 19 2020 there were 9101 people that were confirmed to have died from Covid-19, 4582 who probably died from Covid-19, and 10,099 who died and are not known to be confirmed or probably Covid-19 deaths.

9101 + 4582 + 10099 = 23,782 total deaths in NYC over a period of 46 days.
146 * 46 = 6,716 total deaths are expected over the same time period in NYC going off of the 2017 average.

23782 - 6716 = 17,066 more deaths than are expected.

NYC is reporting a total of 10,657 covid deaths as of 3 hrs ago ......if the other 13k plus deaths are double the norm of average deaths during that time frame then somebody better check it out and see why.
