Attention Drivers and Fans:

We regret to inform you that we have exhausted all options to race on Saturday May 9, 2020, and will be cancelling the event based on our legal counsels recommendation. We have received the attached Cease and Desist letter from the Indiana State Department of Health. We have also had the road blocked off by local authorities, as you can see in the attached pictures.
We are extremely sorry that we aren’t able to operate the race track this Saturday. We did everything possible to make the event happen.
We will be refunding 100% of any monies paid. There have been several individuals that wanted to use it to donate, but it is easier if we refund 100% of the fees at once through our ticket processor.
Thank you to everyone that stood behind us while we attempted to open up.
We will post options for drivers to practice according to the Governors order, effective May 11, 2020.
We will also continue to work closely with the Governors team to discuss opening earlier than July 4, 2020.
Thank you and again, we are sorry. Please allow 2-3 business days for the refund to hit your account.

According to their Facebook, they were issued a cease and decist letter. Then the local police came and installed concrete barriers to stop incoming cars!...….Government overreach, you betcha!

It was understandable what he tried to do but I think Michael Daugherty went about it the wrong way and he was a loud mouth on Facebook about it. Had he shut up this might have flown under the radar of officials. If the race did happen it's likely someone in the area would have reported him to county and state officials in Indiana anyway. I had pit passes for the race and was going to help a friend with his modified. O well making the 5 1/2 hour drive from Northwest Indiana to Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri next Saturday for the World Of Outlaws Late Model Series show. Hope UMP Modifieds are one of the support class for that show.

Your are correct. Indiana has been around a 80% - 90% majority Republican state (elected officials) since the mid 1920's.

Governors that have been Democrats in Indiana over the last 104 years
Elected Governors since 1916 - 14 Republican Governors & 9 Democrat Governors. Knowing what I know about Indiana. As of now I would never vote for a Democrat governor for Indiana again.
