The police took an oath to defend the Constitution and the laws only. Not unilateral orders from somebody trying to become a dictator. So the police own some of this chaos too, and the sad part is they are turning their backs on the party that supports them and enforcing unconstitutional orders from the party that despises them. Isn't it funny how when our civil rights are actually being trampled on the lawyers and the ACLU are nowhere to be found? Why aren't lawyers offering pro bono services to defend our Constitution? What law are the Gundaker's breaking by operating their business and what law are the patrons breaking by exercising their freedom of assembly? If people can have large protests in cities like they are all over the country, why can't people have protests at racetracks?

All this stuff about rights is just noise to these people. They will show up and do whatever they want including arresting people and taking licenses/permits then it’s up to you to fight them in court and see who runs out of money for lawyers first. It’s a sad deal. A business associate of mine runs a gaming parlor in Illinois and he received an email saying basically don’t try any funny stuff because the liquor license you have although it was issued by local authorities is still a state license subject to revocation by the state

On the other hand Kevin wasn’t born yesterday so he has some information we may not be privy to and he has some kind of angle or game plan

The promoter at Daugherty Speedway tried that too. They put barracades in the road, all kinds of stuff. Race didn't happen.

It does seem that the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) should be a little more involved during this time. I wonder why they aren't?

Exactly...and where are the lawyers and the ACLU?????? They're not allowed to do any of those things! They can't just decide to take our freedoms away at any time for no good reason without making it law.

The ACLU is aligned with the left. They don’t really care about freedoms. Just a political vehicle.

That's because he's an idiot and didn't try to open in a legal manner and go through all the proper channels to open plus he was a big mouth all over the internet and I'm sure some state official saw what was said and done.

The governor of Illinois sent the state police to a Hobby Lobby about an hour from where I live to shut them down. They had reopened deaming themselves essential because they sell fabric that could be used to make masks.

This post by chathamracefan is short and to the exact and accurate point as to why the ACLU doesn't go to bat for people and entities like Kevin & Tammy Gundaker and Tri-City Speedway.

Wouldn't it be fun and revealing to have a high level representative of the ACLU take questions from a group of race fans. It won't happen because those people are ideological cowards but it's a cinch it would be lively and security would be necessary! LOL!

I'm with the person who said Kevin & Tammy likely know something we don't know. It's obvious that they aren't ignorant or cognizant of the jeopardy they would put their race track venue in by attempting to defy the authoritarian governor and the resources at his disposal. I'd venture a guess that the Gundaker family could live happily ever after and do nothing more than count the return on their investment portfolio. Gundaker Realty was no small realty broker firm prior to it's sale.

Is there a smidgen of doubt that was politically motivated? Obviously not!

ACLU is still trying to figure how to prove Jesse didn't lie about being mugged and called racial slurs.

ACLU is a left wing cess pool. They might get involved if we were illegal aliens or minority’s wanting something we don’t deserve
