The way it was explained as I saw last night from KG on Facebook is the Peoria track owner emailed their mayor asking for permission to race, using Tri-City as an example of a track that is opening. The mayor took then forwarded that info and it went up the chain to the governor.

I don't understand why anyone would think that any Illinois racetrack is going to race this weekend. What has changed with Pritzker's lockdown? He will not let it happen. Save your time and gas and go to Wisconsin or Missouri

They've been given approval under the outdoor recreation guidelines in the re-opening plan. Part of the work of the Illinois Motorsports Coalition spearheaded by Matt Curl and Sarge. Pritzker's dictatorship slowly losing steam.

Although I've heard the comparison before, I don't get the comparison between Spoon and Eldora. Spoon, @ 3/8 mile comes up short in comparison to the Big E configuration. Along with the size difference, Eldora has concrete walls all the way around while Spoon has no walls except for the front stretch.
and...the Big E has great food consesions. Spoon, well lets say, eat before you enter. Eldora actually has a bar. Spoon has a parking lot.
