That is not a valid comparison. You know a surgeon has a valid reason and purpose because of direct threats of actual infection. On the other hand you have NO PROOF of a silly mask preventing squat when a person is no way near another person or not. There is no harm to wearing a mask and the potential for a lot of good. The risk to reward makes it an easy choice.
