Hopefully we see a Owens / Sheppy battle. It would be highly entertaining to watch two of the smoothest and cleanest racers go at it for 100 laps.
Brandon didn't put down 2 fast laps last night and it cost him. Qualifying is everything when it comes to these talent loaded crown jewels. I bet he qualifies better tonight.8/13/16

Looked like a combination of lapped traffic and the car going away in the last 10 laps. He looked good all night. Nice to see him back after the shop fire they had to deal with.Originally posted by Drpepsi View PostCan anyone tell me what happen to Gustin in the feature? Was running 4th and see he finished 13th.

Pennsboro,Originally posted by Pennsboro32 View PostLooks like a nice place.
Beaver Dam is a very nice facility. Plenty of seating, parking, option to sit on the hill on a blanket/lawn chairs (some do, too many skeeters for me), private tables for rent at specials, vendor row behind main grandstand, and plenty of options at the concession stand.
Decent size bleacher section in the pits, although I wish the pit lighting was a little better.
The track crew prepares a good racetrack, and as you saw last night generally 2-3 grooves. IMHO, the 2nd nicest dirt track facility in WI, just behind Cedar Lake.
There's a 1/2 mile track at the Dodge County fairgrounds about 2 miles down the road. The IRA sprints run both. WoO sprints only run at the 1/3 mile.
I like late models, but BD is definitely more sprint car country in WI. Hope they bring the lates back on a yearly basis.

That's awesome. Thanks for the info. Watched the broadcast last night and I was impressed by the looks of the place and how unique it raced. Definitely a hidden gem for late models I suppose.Originally posted by Zonks32x View PostPennsboro,

Previously known as Charter Raceway, Beaver Dam is a pretty nice joint. There used to be a Taco Bell on site... it's gone now or I missed it somehow.

Just watching the 8:00 replay on DoD that was one of my first thoughts. Track looked nicely slicked and smooth as a babies rear end. ............ Was happy to see Shirley kept up his fine streak with a 4th place finish. His team has that car figured out right now.Originally posted by Pennsboro32 View PostLooks like a nice place.
Heckenast going back to his days at Kankakee 15 yrs ago is still the same racer. Unloads with great equipment, a very good qualifier which gets him an upfront spot in his heat, starts the feature up front and invariably falls back. Didn't see all the race but see the same pattern occurred......... Did anyone notice how he fell back to a 20th place finish from a 5th place starting spot?

Heckenast pulled off while running 15th late in the race. Not sure why he fell back. I was hoping he'd have a solid finish.

They used to have a beautiful brick 2 story building right behind main grandstands. Concessions on bottom, announcers booth and vip area up top. Some guy burned it to the ground several years back and they never rebuiltLast edited by bullring; 08-05-2020, 01:15 PM.
