Announcer at Fairmont

I was checking out the Flo race's last night and I
tuned into this race.

I don't know where the track is at but the track looked
good,so I started watching.

This announcer was doing just a good job that I stayed
on this race. The farther it went the more I liked the guy.

A lot of people in the sport should take notes from him.

BTW if you've seen it you know about Bubba Brown,if not
then you need to see him in his interview !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


I laughed more last night than I have in a long time.

That is Lon Elke (spelling?). He was the USMTS announcer in the past. While he is highly entertaining, he has a tendency to talk about/point out things that an announcer should not say over a microphone.

He made some comments but I never heard anything

DLC, posting a link is very simple.

1. Take your mouse's arrow and put it on the address bar at the top of the page you want to create a link from.

2. Right click your mouse on the address.

3. A drop down menu appears.

4. Put your arrow on COPY and left click it.

Lon is one of the better ones for me. He only yaps to fill time during lulls on the track, the play-by-play is good.

This was quite a few years ago when Lon was the announcer for the USMTS. He had a habit of saying "here again tonight". So when he did group of people i knew made a rule that you had to take a drink of your adult beverage. There were some pretty drunk people by the end of the night.

I've enjoyed listening to Lon Oelke for several decades at tracks all over. He is actually a member of the Fairmont Raceway Hall of Fame and rightly so. Lon is a great race announcer and never fails to put a smile on my face throughout the night. I'm sure he's not everyone's cup of tea but I believe racing needs more like him. And yes, Upside Down Bubba Brown is a character!
