That said, did anyone truly expect Bobby to jump in someone else's car, with or without pops around, and come out dominating?

I have no dog in this fight but I believe since Bob was suspended, they are taking the next two weeks off to regroup with the #32 car. Viper Motorsports owns Lanigan's car and owner Sean Martin helped organize the Billy Vecek race at Lincoln on Thursday, which originally was to be a ULMS sanctioned race and became co-sanctioned as a WoO race. Since Viper is a motor sponsor for Pierce, he helped put together the deal with the #11 team (I do not think Martin actually owns that team, but it definitely was an ICON chassis like Lanigan runs). I am not sure who has been running the #11 car prior to Bobby, but it is obvious the team is not prepared to run with THE BIG DOGS at a national series race. If this is not correct, someone feel free to update the story.
