Dirt Late Model owner Clint Bowyer retiring as NASCAR driver

Bowyer's status a dirt owner will no doubt be determined by sponsorship going forward

It will be very interesting to see if Bowyer maintains his DLM team without his NASCAR salary. I guess it will all come down to sponsorship, as it always does, and how much "out of pocket" money he is willing to provide to keep the team afloat.

I would think with the money FOX is going to be paying Clint to be an analyst for NASCAR, its still not as sponsor dependent as we all think. Clint could still do appearances for companies during NASCAR weekends as well, just like his "retired" team owner, or the other NASCAR analysts who still have ties to sponsors.

He said before the team was safe, as long as he kept driving. Maybe Richards winds up back at Best?

Bowyer. One of those that really didn’t have enough talent to be in the Cup Series.

His net worth is estimated at $40Mil, I think with his new salary and his previous earnings he isn't going broke with a dirt team

No. But rich people want their cash flow looking good. He'd have to be a moron to go broke.

Not bad cash for being a mid pack driver for 15 years

10 wins in 16 years. Yawner of a career.

I used to not believe in the CBR ride being a career killer, but history sure doesn't lie. I know there's a "slim" argument that O'Neal won the title in a CBR car, but when you look at each driver individually that took the CBR ride and what it seemed to do to their career, it's very hard to argue against the curse. Most currently, Josh Richards was a threat every night in the Rocket house car, and lost very little momentum when he went to Best... then he moved to CBR....

Clint is freakin hilarious but he is NO Kyle Busch. Clint doesn’t win enough.

Larson will be in 14. NASCAR needs him in the sport at attract dirt track racing fans to pay attention to nascar.
