Somebody has already mentioned throwing the crown jewel moniker out the window for this thread....clearly there aren't 10 of them and most of the top tier races that have a chance at being qualified have already been mentioned....dream, world etc.

This thread seems to have evolved into a top ten most prestigious races to win or watch......and its strictly an a opinion but anyone that doesn't have an east bay speedweeks race in their top ten races to see each year probably has never been.
I've seen way more great races than crappy ones there.....not many places in the country can say that with a straight face.

If there’s only one, it’s obviously the World.

If you go with four, as several sports do, that’s pretty obvious too. World, Dream, North/South, DTWC ... in whatever order you choose.

After that, there’s probably 5 or 6, or even a dozen, depending on bias based on where you’re from. There’s a lot of factors involved starting with #5, but there’s no debating the top four.

Lucas has their own separate point standings for it with in their schedule. I'm not sure though if it's clarified which events count towards it.

Any race that pays at least 20,000$ is considered a crown jewel event on the Lucas Oil Schedule

Now the circus race at Gateway is a crown jewel. lmao. This thread is getting better by the minute.

Gateway doesn't belong anywhere close to the list, circus is a good description and I don't want a circus anywhere near the top of the list.

I think Gateway Nationals should qualify. I don't remember how many years it's been running, but the hype and atmosphere around that event is pretty impressive. I'd actually put it in my top 5. I look forward to it more than pretty much any other race all year.

BINGO......the only crappy ones are the daytime races. Even then, you make an extra trip to the concession stand, and have another strawberry shortcake! That seems to make the race...... less crappy!
