Jake Oneil won the Saturday Mel Hambelton Ford Modified Spooktacular race @ I80 Speedway driving an old Owens built LG2 chassis. Not only did Oneil win with a LG2 chassis , but he won with a Cornett Ford engine. There are very few Ford powered mods in USMTS or USRA modified races. Jake Oneil is having a really great year winning some big paying races at the end of the year. He dominated the Fall Jamboree at Deer Creek by winning all the features this fall.

The finale in KS. just ended and Lucas Schott from MN just won. nother very good young gun. Brooks Stregth from MS. was second. Sortve interesting to see Mod racers from very different parts of the country up there. Owens 3rd and Sheppard 6th. Very choppy track. A lot of talent racing in that deal over the last few days.

Thanks for the results. Owens and Rocket Shepp did pretty well for driving cars not totally setup for them. If Owens and Rocket Shepp had their own mods they would have done much better. Good to give regular mod racers a chance to race with them. Good sportsmanship for SLM racers to participate.

Amazing that Rocket Shepp could win two nights in a row driving a modified that is not driven by him on a regular basis. The USMTS racers are used to racing on the small tires required by USMTS. It takes a quick learner to adapt to the small tire and out run such fast mods. Congrats again to Rocket Shepp.

The guy is the best wheelman out there right now. Doesn't burn the tires off, rarely bends any sheet metal, has excellent throttle control. Doesn't bring any drama to the team. Has a really good bank account, probably the highest paid slm driver out there.

He may just be the real superman ?

Hard to say because some of that includes money from the B5 family car. That might make it somewhat different

I dunno, Brandon Overton would be a serious threat in his current gear vs the Rocket team, and that's saying something.
