I’m really shocked at the number of drivers from the Midwest that travel to this series. The payout is as bad as I’ve seen. If you don’t finish in the top two in each of the $5K races then you might was well pull off and save your stuff.
Looks like outside the top 10 all pays the same so why continue on to finish?
Heat racing should be good to watch from a fans perspective but I don’t see to many cars finishing the feature races.

I would suspect for some it is an extended test session to get cars lined out for this season and it works as a sort of vacation in nice weather. Seems like if you are going to Arizona for 10 or so days, payouts aren't the main reason for going. Just my opinion tho.

It’s pretty much been that way for as long as I can remember. It was west coast guys, mlra guys, Jimmy Mars, and Billy Moyer. Those shows paid 3k all week with 10k to win for finale. Even the 10k show was like $500 to start. Honestly I liked it better back then. It was cool to see some different guys get the spotlight. Every driver knew going down there they weren’t making money unless they won a couple. Florida Speedweeks is the same way. Yet, the same middle of the pack guys go every year.
