They have a practice the Saturday and or Sunday before the week of racing. They won't hot lap at the beginning of each night because they feel there will already be a lot of laps and the track and don't want to wear out the track surface.

This is a dirt surface isn't it ? I guess it's just not that hard to set up a car for dirt.
