The earlier LM event was thinly attended. Is this purse that much greater, to expect many more cars?Modern Day Spec Wedge Racing

I’m sure there’d have been a few more cars if this big Double Dream scenario wasn’t involved. On the other hand, WVMS to Eldora is not a difficult drive, especially considering the crazy amount of miles these guys are used to driving. There’s more than one factor involved. The DLM big money stretch used to start in August, but with so many other high paying events added in the last decade or so, it’s hard to say exactly when it starts now. You could say it starts tonight and tomorrow at WVMS, but is 25K still considered a big money show? I know that’s a silly sounding question, but IMO it’s at least debatable. All I know is, we’ll be watching on Flo and hoping for a great race. That’s the thing WVMS needs. It would go a long way, as far as silencing the critics.

I could see folks showing up Saturday, if that's an option. When I made that statement, the $10k was sticking in my mind.Originally posted by Pennsboro32 View PostI mean it was $8,000 to win the first event. This one is $10,000 and $25,000. With a $5,000 bonus available.Modern Day Spec Wedge Racing

The traction that the cars get nowadays really makes it even tougher on equipment, more than ever, which is why the car counts will never match the purse at tracks like WVMS. I thought the track raced very well for its size the first time they had LM's this year but to see Terbo blow the wheel clear off shows the torque and G-forces on the car at the big big tracks.

Car counts are going to be thing everywhere. Between the regional races in a lot of areas, some unsanctioned events paying decent money, and double the fun at Eldora next week, racers are spread out or staying home this weekend. Several years back, this weekend was always the Tazewell/Florence doubleheader for Lucas until they moved it to earlier in the year and eventually dropped Tazewell.

At least Bloomquist put a throwback on it, unlike Davenport. I mean you’d think if anyone went there thinking hey there’s a free $5,000 for running a throwback scheme when I win, it would be him. Must be nice not to need money, just my thoughts.
