I really wonder how effective the sticks are for signaling drivers. The drivers don't need the distraction of looking for someone with sticks while racing. The driver needs to be 100 percent focused on the track and looking for the best place to run to get the best traction. Really , how many drivers really look for sticks to tell them where to run ?
No more signaling in WoO?

Back in the early 90's we hid a radio in the car and two crew guys had them at different parts of the track. This was in Nascar's heyday and we really thought we had an edge with the clever hiding place in the car (and the way we hid the wiring for the ear plugs). With the smaller size of the bullrings within 3-4 hours of Central KY, they were absolutely useless and (way) more of a distraction for the driver. A track would have to be AT LEAST a half mile to even use them, and I still don't think they'd help the driver. The only time we could really communicate with him was under yellow and even then we could only tell him what he already knew. We abandoned the idea after about 3 races, so I'm like Mod Runner, I can't see sticks or radios being that much of a help.

There are so many ways to get around this. Think about a recent baseball “buzzer†scandal. Strap a vibration device or devices to an arm(s) or chest and if the crew wants to tell the driver to go high the vibration device on the right side vibrates and if low the left side. Or you could use lights on the dash direct where to go.
The vibration device has been contemplated by those that hate certain QB’s in football, too. For instance, how does a QB looking to his left regularly “sense†a guy about to hit him from the right and he consistently and magically ducks or steps forward at the last second to evade the hit???
Let’s be creative folks!

There is a way to get around this new rule. Wonder how many already know.If you're not outraged, you're not paying attention!

Good drivers can hear their competition and can generally sense where they are. Rally won’t affect much of anything. Aero push is gonna keep most races on the blame side anyways.
