It's easy to look up actual statistics on the internet.

I have read studies too. It's not 99.99%. it's definitely lower. There are some really good case studies out there. A huge wedding in Texas, with all vaccinated guests, was a great one. You are way better off with the vaccine, but it doesn't mean you are assured of staying out of the ER.

Just wearing any mask may not work but, wearing the right mask might work. Taking the vaccine may not prevent you from getting the virus but, it might help you from getting really sick and on a ventilator or dying from it. Everyone has to do what's right for them and I wish everyone good luck no matter what they choose.

Is it too hard to just wish Chris would get better rather than worrying about his vaccination status? Considering you can contract the virus with or without, then it shouldn't matter at that point. It's his decision and I just hope he has a speedy recovery.

I agree with that. I am pointing out that the "experts" than some think are speaking the gospel have been VERY wrong on many occasions. It's like people want to overlook the "experts" when they are wrong, sweep that to the side.

Also it seems the media is staying away from stories where people with no issues have DIED after getting the vaccine. Sure those cases are rare but they still need to be discussed.

I agree with you that every aspect of this needs to be reported. Don't pick and choose.

A huge part of the problem is that people are led to believe that this or that is a miracle and will be a force field to the virus. A mask isn't 100% effective in preventing any virus..not the kind the general public can typically get. It wasn't intended to protect you from others as much as it was to protect others from you possibly spreading. Masks are used as mitigation...not extermination. You lessen the load and spread it out so that nothing breaks(which is why hospital overloads were so widely discussed and there was a scramble for supplies). Lots of people forgot about the hand washing and not touching everything and distancing that were all recommended along with the masks. Vaccines are the same way. They are not and never will be 100% effective against illness. They CAN be and often are 100% effective against severe or critical illness.

Excellent post……..but you hit the nail on the head with the superpowers that the vaccine doesn’t give you….nor does just the mask or just washing hands or etc.etc.

It’s a combination of all of those things that are most effective.

What I do know you're the last person I would listen to. Like I said I will take my chance with the vaccine over the virus. I've had a good friend of mine who I worked with for 25 years brother thought like you and was on a ventilator for 24 days and ended up passing away and I have an Aunt who is in the Hospital and is very sick right now. You do whatever you feel is right for you and I'm doing what I feel is right for me. Who is Arnold?

Right there with ya Kid. I know of 2 people who refused the shot and are no longer here. So if you refuse the shot and get deathly sic, tough sht. Enjoy.
Also going up to Canada for some hunting/fishing in a couple months. They along with others, and more are sure to jump on board, require the vac. apon entering their country. I had to show proof of vaccination before they would let me in to the boobybar. Eventually they will make it mandatory for just about everything.

If we look back across most of our lifetimes, the thing that has controlled or eradicated worldwide diseases has been when enough of the population gets a vaccine. Polio, smallpox, mmr, etc., it usually takes enough of us getting a vaccine to make sh!t disappear. The Rona will be no different. Once enough people get vaccinated the Rona will run its course through the deniers and fade off. Based on infectious disease history, the main concern is the longer it takes the population to get to a high vax rate, the more mutations the Rona goes through. If it mutates enough the vaccines don’t work as well and we’re back to square 1 or 2. Stay tuned, and it sucks for Fergy, he runs alright at Florence.
