Absolutely. No one driver makes it, even one as great as Billy is. He hasn’t been right there the last few years. And just as Scott either needs to right to the ship or retire, I think Billy knows it’s time. He still has his health I believe, he looks to be in good shape. Made good investments, enjoy life, racing isn’t everything.

Don’t go out like Richard Petty.

Age catches up to everyone. Whatever sr. Interests are out west he must feel it's time to move on to that next faze in life.
It's the same for many that stick around in the drivers seat to long. CnB mentioned Petty, Look at Jimmy Johnson, I for one was hoping he could be somewhat competitive. Not a chance, but he just recently said he will stick around as long as Ganassi will have him. Why ?

I think it’s a shame that that the winningest driver of the event won’t be there to at least be recognized. Purvis, Moore, Swartz are gonna be there to walk on the stage.
Why won’t Billy come and receive the recognition he truly deserves.
