In 2021 Sheppard had a better season than 99% of all dirt late model racers. The fact that it was considered a down year says a ton about that program in general. They don’t ever stay “down” for long.

Overton won’t win 80% of his races. He probably won’t even get to 50%. That doesn’t mean he’s fallen off or that 2021 was a fluke or anything. This sport is way harder than anybody thinks.

He had 31 wins in 88 starts last year, I'll take that bet. Both Davenport and Sheppard were under 50% in wins in their best seasons recently. Overton might do it if he ran all his races at a local Georgia track.

Then we wouldn't be taking about him on the a national scene if he just raced in Georgia.
