With regard to the pipeline, one thing that also has to be considered is that a pipeline is the most efficient way to move oil or fuel. Think about it. Anyway, you move it takes energy, but with a pipeline the only thing you're moving is the oil itself. If you move it in giant ships or railroad cars, you also having to move huge amounts of steel along with the oil. Trains and ships consume oil. So, using a pipeline to move oil saves oil. that would have to consumed just to move the oil.

I remember going to races paying $5.15 a gallon for regular here in the south during the shortage caused by Hurricane Katrina. Felt like the crowds were the same but maybe that was due to people believing it would be short term until regional refineries could fire back up.

Diesel fuel is skyrocketing. This XR series which has teams crisscrossing the country once a month, doesn't look so profitable now does it. There fuel bill alone for both the rig and the race car has doubled.

I'll summarize it for you.....the same supply chain & labor shortage issues facing companies and industries across the board also are impacting the oil industry. And refineries damaged by hurricanes 2 years ago are yet to be fully operational.

My point in posting the article is to show Washington isn't the only group that is to blame, but labor, parts, and the oil companies are doing their part to drive pricing up as well.

Back to the original point of the topic, I think the national tours need to look at how they schedule what I would call far away trips, high gas prices or not. Having most teams travel a thousand miles from their base leads to race at one track for a weekend leads to a number of problems should weather or anything else become a factor. We saw that a couple of times last year having teams make a trip to Iowa and Minnesota and the teams traveled out there for nothing because weather got those weekends. Seems like if they're going to make trips like that, go to another track or two so there will be better chances of racing while on those trips.

There is no corporation or business that will cut prices to help the common man. Corporate greed drives these price increases far, far more than any president ever could. Oil companies run higher prices because they think oil will be harder to buy in the future. You can be assured that they also manipulate their supplies in order to control profits. They have a product everyone needs and no competition
