I have to say Rigsby is right. Spoon is a Diamond in the rough. That will be a good show with all those names. Some guys know the place very well & some guys have never see the joint. It’s an interesting mix of cars and drivers.

If it races like it has the last 5 or so years for summer nationals it will be a showcase. This is usually a cant miss track for me during summer nationals but I have to sit this one out and watch at home. Spoon is just so different than what you get from other tracks around central Illinois. High banked, sand/clay. 3-4 will usually black up around the top early when it is hot so you see some unique lines. I think it was last year Bronson came out and never lifted during his qualifying lap. Hopefully they are pouring the water on today…..really looking forward to it.
Spoon will put on a good show but Lincoln is one I'm itching to see.
When they pour the water to that blacker than black dirt, Lincoln is about as hooked up of a track you'll see.

That is no joke. Wasn’t too long ago Bobby, Feger, and Sheppard all ended up on their lids. The first two just dug in and rolled super traction style.

Yeah it's to bad they have to these conditions. Hopefully they can get enough water on the track to produce some good racing. Spoon will have the same problem. I was more worried about rainouts but, now this it's like the Summer Nationals Tour is beginning.
How hot are you Illinois folks talking? We’re already looking at 90’s this weekend down here in South Georgia, and close to 100 next week. I’m assuming hot in Illinois, in May, is closer to 80?
It's 95 right now with a heat index of 105. Spoon is out in the middle of nowhere. Extremely humid. It's a shocker when like SSU said, 50's for a high to this. Crazy
^
I doubt it. With the rain outs so far, crowd should be good.
I must be crazy but I could stay home and watch in the AC, but it's my 1st race of the year and only 20 min.ride.
