Lets just be honest, most of these big events are sadly about the experience and not the racing. Good racing has become secondary. Look at a track like Eldora, 90% of the people that will go to the world could care less about the racing, its about the experience, the toilet water, buying big name drivers shirts and Eldora shirts passing the small time guys shirts and stuff all together. Its the state of the sport. Mark my word, 90+ % of the shirts worn will be either world 100 shirts, Davenport, Overton, Pierce, Shepherd, Tmac, a few Owens and Bloomer, and if any of those win its a great weekend. Racing really doesnt matter at these big events. trust me!

Maybe you go for the experience, but that is not the case for most of us.

If the experience you speak of is to get wasted, pass out at yer camper, and miss the race then yes you are correct. Seen plenty of it.

There's an awful lot of people there to see their friends from across the country and have a good time. You ever went back to your camper to get stuff during the racing? There are more people than you'd expect out in the campground planted in a chair with their favorite beverage. They look like they probably didn't even intend to cross the road to the track. It's kind of a vacation for me too, to be honest, but I do watch the racing.

There is no doubt that at least 10% at the World 100 had to with drinking and drugs and little any any perception of what went on racing wise. When you are blowing off with you're big drunken mouth and your back is turned to the track most of the night, then your not there just for the race.

You guys just dont get it! Im not the only one saying it! 90% of the money paid out this year has gone to 4 or 5 teams at most! The lack of parity is destroying the sport, bury your head in the sand all you want! Count how many times Eldora will use the term hallowed grounds for the World weekend. The reason the rules are not enforced because most of the corporate sponsors of both racing series, dirt on dirt, 4m, Eldora, Knoxville and etc are because they make a lot of money promoting their products. They will never bite the hand that feeds them.

While the Dream 100 and World 100 are still to be determined, I thought the Eldora Million feature this year was good. Sure Davenport came out on top as usual but it was a heck of a battle between him and McCredie there in the late stages. Don't forget Madden came from dang near the rear of the field to win it!. Of course if you were watching from home you didn't see any of Madden's charge through the field hardly as they didn't show much out of the top 5.

I would have to agree with ya here. The million probably has been the best 100 lapper so far. JD pretty much led the whole thing, but there was plenty of passing. The rest have pretty well been snoozers.
