I can't help but believe there is a little fault on both sides. I don't think anyone did anything intentionally, but this could have all been avoided by either party.

DOD investigate ? that will never happen. You have 2 parties, one keeps going to social media for support and giving all to read a 1 sided view of what happened. Not 1 but 2 meetings and no agreement on who did what wrong. I think some of that is coming from 1 side posting on social media. If that side gets what they want then others will be airing issues.
