I agree and was simply pointing out that they interpret their own rules differently depending on how they feel. The simple thing to do would have been to run the droop rule that every car there was already set up for. Their deck height rule is easier to get around than a droop rule and really lets you get the spoiler up in dynamic with the right setup, but 99% of the cars were not prepared for it as the other 12 races there were by the droop rule.

Atomic does not use the droop rule. Actually, no track in my area checked it this year, unless a series was there that enforced it.

The point is the series said at one track deck height was not a post race requirement and then at another race DQed someone for post race deck height. They can use whatever rules they like but rules should be consistent. We can agree, disagree with or think the rules are stupid but again they need to be clear and consistent.

I bet if they change the rules for that wing on the back of the decks it would be much easier. Make them 6" with no lip and straight across the back of the car. The rule makers don't want change, that has become so obvious that we have the car that we have today. A sprint car is not a race car that gets thru the air cleanly. Open wheel, cage and driver disrupt the air all around the car. That top wing is were all there downforce comes from. SLM on the other hand from the ears on the nose to the dished interior and the amount of deck area creates a ton of downforce. They want that LR as high as possible to catch the air. The droop rule was suppose to limit that, unless your blind, I guess the officials must be, how is that working out ? There putting these cars in wind tunnels to build a body just right. It's gone past way to far.

Funny thing about that wind tunnel testing. There isn't a wind tunnel in America that's wide enough to put the car in there with the correct yaw. So, they just put it in there straight and say they learned something.

Direction of air matters. Put the car in backwards and you are convinced the spoiler creates lift.
