dirthawk…I would agree with that assessment when applied to last night’s track conditions. It raced like a smaller version of a southeast red clay track, although it seemed like a lot of drivers were glad to see a smooth hard track on night 1. The conditions of the track tonight and the moderate character were much more typical of the dome “surfaceâ€. I know Bauer won it from the pole tonight, but tonight’s race was much different from last night’s…if not for ill-timed cautions, there’s a real chance we could’ve seen 4-5 cars battling for the lead. And of course a very determined Carpenter coming from the tail to tango with the leaders. Ive got no complaints at all with the racing I saw tonight. What was painful to watch were the caution-plagued heats and consis…that’s when you see who does and doesn’t need to be there.

Congrats to Erb on the win, and thoughts to him and his family on the passing of his dad. I know this had to be a rough and hard weekend, but he did what he knew his dad would want him to do. Race and win! Hats off to him, was hard watching and hearing that in victory after the emotional hug with his mom.
