Definitely has that Rube Goldberg flair to it. My guess is it was 30% effective on the track and 155% effective at fawking with everyone's minds. As he kept saying...huge distraction.

This is one of the reasons I'm a big fan of Ben Shelton's. He really is a great interviewer. He interviews the people I want to hear from and asks the right questions. But what really sets him apart is that he lets them talk. In other words, he understands that they are the story, not him.

It set the competition back, as they wasted time trying to build some crazy stuff, but it 100% was worth serious time on the stopwatch. You have your numbers backwards.

there was a guy from texas in the early 90's? that had a device he was peddling. was a traction device over the top of the 3rd member. rumleys device seems similiar.

There's been folks on here that said there was no trickery, there was no device, that's like saying Rumley has no clue what he's doing when those of us who know better knew Mr Rumley was indeed the wizard of dirt racing and is still today. Amen!
