Lost a great racer. Always enjoyed seeing the #4 unload. Overton running his paint scheme lately was a great tribute to a well know fixture in the southeast racing scene. Prayers for family and friends. RIP

Man I hate hearing that, I loved watching him rip around the Old Cherokee and Modoc speedways. I remember once back in 02' or 03' he won a day show at Toccoa Speedway without the use of the LF. About lap 10 something broke on the LF and it was just dragging like an anchor. He survived like 3 different caution restarts and kept that LF front high in the air for like 30 laps. The Gambler was never boring. There use to be a youtube video of him sailing his Barry Wright car over the turn 3 wall during qualifying on the big track Cherokee, sometime around 95', but I can't find it anymore. Its getting where there aren't many of the guys left from my era, the list just keeps getting longer as the stop watch keeps on ticking.
