Best Race Fuel for a Dirt Late Model - VP, BASE, or another brand?

There was a time when fuel was getting out of control cost wise. I know there was a lab up around the Md. area that was getting big bucks for a drum of there product. It came from top NHRA guys running it and was discovered to work extremely well in high compression motors. To old to remember exactly where it came from, but a lot of the top drivers in the NE would run it for a big show. I do remember the cost was crazy, if you pd 300 for a drum this stuff was costing 900 a drum.

Don't know what part of the country you're in but fuel prices on the left coast are nuts. A few years ago I had a deal with a distributor in Nevada for Sunoco 110 @ $7.40/gallon. Lost that when they shut down the race fuel division. Next couple years it was $10/same stuff out of Sacramento distributor. Last year it went to $14/gallon and burning 10-15 gallons per night is a serious part of the budget when we're generally running for $500-1,000 to win. Best prices we can find are at an Indian casino/resort/gas station in the Central Valley @ $9. when we're in the neighborhood of Sonoma Raceway in the Bay Area we hit the pumps there where Sunoco 112, 114 and 116 are each @ $10. Racing aint no po'boy sport no more.

that sounds like oxygenated fuel we tried one time a while back , it was 3 times the cost of regular racing fuel , never saw enough gain to matter in a circle track application , we only run E85 now which is better than all of it.....jmo....
