I was never an Unzicker fan because it sickened me the way DoD was always ridiculously positive about him, but after watching all the MARS races the past couple of years, I've grown to like the guy. He races hard, seems to work hard and he's a good driver. Seems like a nice guy. I've never seen him cry about his situation, but I don't doubt it either.

How about the old boys in the logging business that would chain the boom to the roll cage and pick the whole car on up and then set it on down in the pits ?

I'm sure theirs quite a few things in his racing operation that his dad owns. The point of the comment about not feeling bad for a guy is he could have a near brand new truck and trailer aswell as two brand new cars and a whole arsenal of engines for what that staker cost not to mention the cost of running and maintaining it. Everything is realative
Using this logic, Davenport is the biggest whiner in racing beings he has the arsenal of cars and engines, a new hauler every few years yet complains when someone wrinkles his car up. He should be throwing $100 bills off the liftgate with all the equipment he has! lol jk

It's highly unlikely that the hauler Ryan uses is worth anywhere near what the traveling guys have (I could be wrong). If I had to guess, between the tax write offs for the trucking company and the resale value, the hauler prolly doesn't end up costing anything other than the cost to operate it. Race cars, engines, parts and cash don't work the same way when they can all be garbage at any time.

I'm sure it's frustrating when trying to race on a budget (nobody said he was dirt poor). I can't imagine lighting $350-$400 on fire for the fun of it (and that's just 1 wheel and tire). Wash, rinse, repeat and pretty soon your season gets awful short.

I get what you're saying, but every situation is different. I doubt if the hauler didn't exist that he would have any of the things you mentioned.
