East Bay definitely will not be open as a race track.
What I am hearing is that Lucas Oil will run 3 Thursday, Friday, Saturday shows at G.I. -Bubbas and Al-Tech starting the Thursday after Volusia and the Daytona 500.
It this is true- I think attendance will be very low for the Lucas races other than the local fans. Travelers will not stay in those areas for 3 weeks.
Looks like Volusia will be the new headliner for the ga/fl. Winternationals.

I also heard something similar a few weeks after this years Speedweeks and just wondering why it is taking so long to announce. I don’t mind All Tech or Bubba but it just doesn’t have the same feel as east bay and Volusia do. There is nothing to do during the day and you are not by the ocean. I still don’t understand why Lucas, especially with Flo and the High Limit series, dont build something down there

          ^^^ Al-Tech hasn’t been finalized yet.
As for building a track: Why would anyone build a racetrack in Florida to replace East Bay for maybe 2 weeks of racing?
East Bay looses money other than Jan/February.
It would be a terrible business decision.
We have to face it: with the closing of East Bay- the Winternationals are never going to be the same. East Bay and Volusia on the water during the day and racing during the night in February.
But as the old saying goes-“ all good things come to an end.”
Ga/Florida Speedweeks are never have the same schedules or fan appeal. My trips are usually 5 weeks down there for All the WOO / Lucas races but next year will probably just be 2 weeks at Daytona/Volusia and catch G.I. For the Saturday night show coming home.
Like I said in the o I’ve reply: I don’t think the average traveling snow birds will hang around for 3 weeks to see 9 Lucas races. That’s why I think the attendance will suffer which means the tracks will suffer financially.
Just my thoughts which doesn’t mean a dang thing.

FWIW: the information I got was from a Lucas Oil employee at the Fairbury Lucas race.
Will it be the case: who knows- just what I was told live-In person at Fairbury. How accurate his information is- ???

This was discussed on the Flo pre-race show tonight, I think that plan has been scrapped because they said we will likely see new tracks. I suspect that's why dates haven't been released yet. Not much in FL but south GA does have some tracks such as Waycross, Needmore, Cochran, etc.

I was wondering if that is some of the hold up. I know that Henry County way down near Lake Okechobee wants to add some bigger shows.

As far as building a track, it could the season ended opener and ended for Lucas, Hig Limits, and possibly USAC.
