Most of the 90's and early 2000's. Sadly the inception of 2 big touring series. The money spent was out of control and forced the weekend warriors into lower classes or out of the sport. And secondly, the technology, It became all about the car. And lets face it, everyone is in longhorns and honestly, they are not really fun to watch race.

The golden era ended around 2010. Eldora crown jewel car counts dropped off around then to now being lucky to crack 100 cars for the dream and maybe a bit more for world. This was also around the same time the number of weekly tracks running supers dropped of flat and switched to crates or some other limited class. For example in IL I think only 4 tracks run them weekly and one of those (highland) is every other week. Fals is the only weekly one that draws close to 20 cars with normal
Weekly payout.
