I seen a video where it was said that he was taking time off from the Rumley 6 ride. It was said that he told Kevin that he would be taking some time off from driving for him. They said it could be 2 months 2 years or.... Said he wanted to focus on his nascar stuff

I think his High Limits series has a lot to do with that, but I could be wrong.

He was in it last night too. He's getting help from Rumley, I don't think he's running a car Larson drove.

Hudson drove Rumley #71 last night at Atomic, and will the dream. He will then return to his team at Smoky Mountain Lucas race.

Other than purse $$, I wonder what motivates Kevin to “Own” and have someone else “Race” that car. Lets say it’s the #5 car in this case.

I understand the #6 Larson situation as Kyle may be footing some of the bills --- but others driving Kevin’s car, I don’t understand.

Maybe development? Developing what?

If you own the car, You call all the shots. You get to work on new ideas to make cars faster. If I was in his position, I'd do the exact same thing.

There's a lot more to racing than just driving...What attracts me to the sport personally is the innovation and development side of it. Seeing guys do different things to get ahead. Seeing guys chase hundredths of a second.

Other than making JD fast a few years ago and possibly working with Longhorn directly, and possibly other drivers with chassis engineering --- and other than the Rumley Devise, what else is he know for Development wise. I’m not being stupid or crass, I’m just removed from this part of the sport for years now, and am curious. The sport passed me by awhile ago.

The device and setting the cars up more to "dynamic" conditions is what he is known for. Who knows what he's currently working on. As I've said many times on here, there are still things wrong with the cars that could be improved. He may have something in the works or he may remain a 1 hit wonder.

In my opinion, he hasn't even gotten all of the lessons learned from the device, back into the car, that could be achieved within the rules.

Before Rumley the Longhorn cars were just downright scary to drive. I've heard that from several people. I'm not going to say he is the best out there, but I'd bet he understands more than most everyone about the cars. That doesn't mean he doesn't make the wrong choices and get beat though.
