I have been hearing the same rumors- but they could be just rumors?

The thing most people are failing to realize: Todd Burns owns the team and pays the bills. That gives him the right to have whatever team/driver he chooses. We as fans have no say so in those decisions.
There is certainly a reason that RTJ was let go mid-season with what he has accomplished. Fans need to take a minute and understand this.

I can’t comment on Ricky’s character. But it’s clear you’ve never owned a business. Just because someone is making you money, doesn’t mean they can’t be replaced. There’s a lot of other things that go into it.

Yeah if the rumor mill is true I bet it went down like this. O’Neal out at Rocket 1 so SSI being close with the Oneals wanted to do right by Huddy at put him in the Rumbley car, and then somewhere down the line promised him a ride in a 2nd car, unbeknownst to RTJ this was going on. Once they had to keep their promise to Huddy they had to finally tell RTJ thinking it would go over smoothly, but they guessed wrong. Especially when they wanted to be a true team and share all info team RT had built up over the last few years. RTJ said “ he’ll no, and SSI said” or else or you can walk.” So if the 2 car team thing is real then it was ego!!!! SSI really sh#t the bed on this!!!!

Here's my guess. Everything comes down to dollars and cents. Hud was going to ssi in 2025 regardless of the current success. Word got to mark weather it was hud telling him or otherwise and Mark fired him understandably so. The whole hud running his own team was mostly bs. Basically a cover story to make it through the year without upsetting to much. Ssi was footing most of huds bill and all of rtj. Huds not running as good as they had hopped to offset the additional cost for the remainder of the year and a Buisness decision had to be made. Rtj got the short end of the stick. Just Buisness. That's my guess

The only hole I see in this theory is everything indicates Hud left Rocket, not fired. My guess is he left to be a second team at SSI and RTJ wasn't happy about it. And then the rest of the theory falls in line.

Some good opinions guys. Not sure about the second team theory, but anything is possible. Regardless, I will be pulling for Ricky in his new ride. I like Hudson too, but right now, I feel bad for Ricky losing out on this solid top shelf situation. See what happens going forward
