Longhorn house car troubles

neither t-mac or b shep have set the racing world ablaze in 2023 or 2024 in the house car. now apparently the secret is out that B shep is headed back to Rocket. why is the house car struggling so much in the last 2 years? ive got no skin in the chassis game, just looking for some facts .... also interesting that erb jr left Rocket just as the xr1.2 is released.

I've also heard rumblings of Sheppy going back to Rocket1 next year. I don't quite know what the house car issue is for Longhorn. All other Horns seem to have stuff figured out. 🤷🏽♂️

Switching back to Rocket cars wouldn't be a huge surprise IMO, but I don't see him going back to the Rocket1.

Some cars just fit some drivers better than others. Despite what some say, they're not just a pile of tubing welded together..... especially not at the top level of the sport.

That's exactly what it is. Apple of tubes formed and welded together. It's a place to bolt all the parts in the location you want them. The logo does nothing for how fast it goes. The wheel loads and alignments are all there is.

Mark Richards and Kevin Rumley wish that's all that mattered. These chassis all move and twist different. Yes, some are more rigid than others, but they all flex. I do not totally disagree with your point, but there is a reason people like Vinny G. focus on one brand of chassis. I'm sure Vinny could set up a Rocket to win, but not with the same exact stuff Longhorns are winning on.

The 2 cars have different geometry. If the car is flexing enough to be a variable, it's flexing too much. They all used to. But that's been getting fixed in more recent times.

Your first point here is why I wasn't totally disagreeing with you. In basic theory, yes. I still don't 100% think that putting a Rocket chassis on the longhorn jig to match pick up points for bolt on parts (no other changes to the chassis) will get you to where the Longhorn cars are. Very similar, yes..... the same, no. I'm also not of the belief that there is one answer as far as geometry that every driver will be good with. In today's top level these guys are not into cutting cars apart like they used to, they'll just buy the one they're better in.

I'm not telling you anything you don't already know. I'm not trying to argue, I'm only trying to explain why I said what I said.
