It has been a rough summer for the 157. Pretty sure he bent a car a Florence, lost a motor at the Topless, and then lost another just 4 days later at the Lernerville Flo race. Plus that moment at Port Royal where he went off into turn with 1 brakes and popped the wall.

He was at the Baltes and was leading the heat race and had a tire explode on him if I do believe.

Probably scared to leave the house with all the bad luck he's been having. Hauler might run off the road and turn over considering the bad luck lately. It's a shame too. He's an excellent wheel man.

At this point it's not bad luck anymore, it's a consistent pattern of failures over months.

Anyone who follows DLM racing to any degree knows what kind of driver Marlar is and has been for several years, always a perennial top 5 or 10 throughout each previous year. Changes of teams, cars, chassis', shocks and motors and you'll still find him at the front and always racking up several wins each year. I know some people will yell and scream about how good the equipment he's in now is, but something is going on with that Bruening team, even Ray Charles can see that.

Ray Charles saw him get wrecked countless times. He's had a few mechanical failures sprinkled in. His speed has been off a bit the last few months too. The last 2 are things they can improve upon.

There's an article on DoD where he talks about his year. He admits even when he was winning early in the year he still didn't feel great. He's had some real bad luck though. In the article you'll find a story about how they nearly lost all their gear in a hauler fire. Just one of those years I think.

His "shoddy equipment" almost got him wrecked by Stapleton and Terbo as the heat race barely got started. He managed to avoid disaster and finish second in the feature.

His car looked much better last night at Brownstown. As you say, he dang near got in a mess in his heat race. He passed a bunch of cars in the feature! Great job Mike!

Turbo was a out of control pinball in that heat. That had bad Marlar karma written all over it.
