The stupid move was scheduling against Bedford. Probably could have gotten support from at least 10 mid-Atlantic teams.

I tend to agree. Those guys would probably do pretty good at Flat half mile because that their wheelhouse. However, they’ll stay close to home to race for (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) near the same money.

It’s rained for a few days but nothing heavy. We needed it, it went almost all summer without rain.

First post ever. Stopped @ grocery store by the track about 6:15 this evening & when I shut my car off I heard a late model ripping around the old track. Got a couple grocery items and drove over to the speedway and watched the last 4 or 5 laps. Don't know who the driver was but he ran 25 to 40 laps. They don't have the block walls very far along , of course no catch fence started yet. They did cut a nice terrace behind the old flagstand which looks to me would be able to fit bleachers for 2 to 3 thousand people but that part hasn't got going yet. Looks to me like a lot of large concrete blocks to get in place plus the catch fence is a bunch of work to do in the next few weeks. I hope that this event happens.

The short interview was refreshingly honest. Only chance they have of running more than few races there is complete reconstruction. I'd say 1/3 mile. If nec, widen the bridges, build a modern track with some banking. I'm not sure enough room to build a 1/3 or 1/4 mile and stay out of the creek without it being a paperclip? I know they started to build something. Bailed pretty quick.

Seven minute in-car of Moran. Move the bridge for 3/4 over enough, closer to 1/2, to have a 1/3 mile. Rest looks like it could work. Leave it flat and make them use the brakes.

If can do without redirecting water I'd think would be fine. Basically adding width to the bridge. Make the "hole" larger on that end/side (my brain ain't working) so no effect on flow. Be a funnel.

I’d like to get excited for this. Love that they brought it back because there is some magic there but I think leaving the same track configuration was a grave mistake. I guess no lesson was learned from WVMS. Might have a successful event or 2 from nostalgia but it won’t last with the product that track provides. Car numbers will dwindle fast too if they even get enough to begin with. Hopefully they can redesign it in the offseason.

Another track that reconfigured but didn't learn any lessons. I-70 Speedway. Still way too big and a killer on wide open engines.

Now it really isn't in the hotbed of late model country for one thing but there are regional tours out there. I just got done watching the video of Ryan Gustin running away with the MLRA feature event of 14 cars. It was fast car show.

Maybe the folks behind I-70 thought sprint car shows would be more their forte in special events but the Super shows I've watched from there were not worth it. Who knows, in looking at the current photos of Pennsboro it almost looks like an ovalish version of an autocross track going wide to narrow to wide with the bridges involved. Maybe guys will have use brakes and actually drive the cars and that in itself could produce - a show. Good luck.
