I plan on going to this race and am excited to see cars the old track again .I don't understand all the negativity about racing here again. How many of you have even been there and seen a race? Back in the day there would be over 100 cars entered for the DTWC and about as many for the Hillbilly and they fit in the pits, big haulers and all. The tracks odd shape adds character and I think that's going to lead to exciting racing. previously the races were run in the daytime and the track would rubber up causing 1 lane racing. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I thought they did hold a race there at night time with potable lights and the racing was pretty good. The 92 DTWC was the very fist time I seen Bloomquist race and with his passing this year I couldn't pass up the opportunity to go back to where I seen him the first time. I was standing at the stage in the infield going into turn 1 during time trials and here he comes down the front stretch 5 car lengths deeper than anyone was lifting before he lifted and I thought this guys taking the wall down. That car took a set and he motored on through the turn setting fast time.
Anyhow, I'm excited to be going back and hope we get a good show.

I was there. It shouldn't come back. It's a terrible race track, with the old narrow cars that raced better.

This is the correct answer. Grew up in WV. Probably went to at least 10 races there. It was an event more than a race. Same atmosphere as the Blackwater 100. Lots of drunks & parties. I'll be shocked if the resident hillbillies (I are a non-resident hillbilly now) don't somehow manage to screw it all up. Take a monster truck and teat down the fence or something. The level of stupid there can't be underestimated. Why I left. Old definition of insanity applies.

It’s no longer the 80s or 90s, and I’ve seen plenty of stupidity outside of West Virginia. As a matter of fact I’ve seen more of it at Eldora than anywhere else.

That went pretty smoothly. Track looks fantastic and seemed to stay smooth. They added banking so it's not the stop & go of the past. My main concern is the guardrails. Afraid a car will submarine it. Would be bad.

I went down for practice, track did look pretty good. Needed more lighting but a flat bed with more portable lights arrived part way thru the session. Odd sitting on the backstretch. If the weather cooperates should have a nice crowd.

Stands appear to be taller than I expected. Can you see over the haulers? I mean, visibility sucked there 20+ years ago but we were less whiny back then. Everything has to be just so-so now or riots develop.

I say bring back the ramp trucks and open trailers. One car. You wreck, fix it or go home.

I sat in the second row and cars were behind haulers, I'd suggest sitting in the kart track section as high as possible or get a pit pass and sit on the other side. Overall I was pleasantly surprised at how nice everything was. May go back for the Friday race.

Race tonight looked good to me. Seen a lot worse at Eldora. Somrbody spent a ton of money on it while other tracks are dropping like flies. Why not give it a chance. Saw rumor today that Lasalle might come back next year. I'd sure hate for guys to post everything they could negative about it befire they have a chance.
