Only three tracks left in points chase after cancellations

Brownstown and Atomic have been cancelled. Assuming only Saturday is a points night there are only three races to decide the champion, and two of them at a half mile track. I think the battle between McCreadie, Moran and JD will be good but can't see RTJ being much of a threat any more. Considering how close Moran got last year, I think he'll make any move he has to.

BATAVIA, Ohio (September 26, 2024) – This weekend's 45th Annual Jackson 100 at Brownstown Speedway, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, has been postponed. In addition, Tuesday’s event at Atomic Speedway has been canceled.


The remnants of Hurricane Helene are expected to reach the Tri-State area on Friday, bringing heavy rain and strong winds through early next week.


Brownstown Speedway and Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series officials are actively exploring a possible make-up for the 45th Annual Jackson 100. An announcement regarding the event is expected next week.

Exactly. Just another reason this chase type thing is dumb in dirt racing. NASCAR gets all their races in eventually, dirt not so much.

Postponed means they will reschedule or attempt to reschedule. Cancelled means it will not be rescheduled. A lot of people don't know the difference.

I'm not sure why they said Brownstown was postponed. I don't see how they could reschedule it without running midweek.

If I was betting I would pick this to happen. Back in speedweeks when they raced at eastbay, they kept saying "If we get to return in October" almost every time they referred to it.

I don't care what format they use to determine a Championship. All the drivers know going in what the format is and it's their choice to run the series or not. Just for the record I like the old format where the champion is determined by consistency throughout the year and not a playoff. JMO

Lets be honest it could create some excitement versus a Champion being determined way before the season is over, I mean it did crate some excitement last year when it was over. Fans all over social media made their voice heard.
