Not like I used to be. He's maturing and making far less contact with other drivers. Having a HOF driver and chassis builder raise you and be there with you on the road night in night out your whole life? Come on, how could he fail?

It always cracks me up that people think the key to winning is having a bigger engine. There is so much more to stock car racing than that.

And besides I hardly think that Vic Hill is going to just leapfrog Cornett Durham and Clements … Clements has tons of resources they’re not going to get caught with their eyes closed and Jack Cornett and Andy Durham are not dummies

I was looking at Pierce's season so far. Both wins and earnings is quite impressive.

Others have had that and there’s not a thread on here discussing their success. Js

True, but nowadays, people only dwell in the moment.

Who else has 35 wins and counting? Reason for the thread.

I was referring to the Hall of fame father.

Who else has a hall of fame driver turning the wrenches besides Pierce?

That built his own cars no less.

I'm sure Tanner English has a pretty successful father as does Devon Moran to name a couple. My whole point was that it's not only one part of his program making him successful, there are many factors. Bobby being a wheelman sure doesn't hurt either, but some are looking for any excuse to discredit that part. I'm surprised you all haven't mentioned Rumley in all this. Rumor is he spent quite a bit of time in Pierces pit at Eldora, both at the DTWC and the World.

All of the mentioned builders have before and still can build bigger engines. I don't think their is anything magic about vics engines but the fact is he is building some of the biggest right now means Somthing. Now their have been a hand full of other drivers switch to vics stuff and then go back to their preferred combo. All your top builders can make a much power as you want it comes down to drivability and getting to the ground and for whatever reason Bobby has either found a way to do that or the power curve just fits him better than others. I remember when the roush/ yates stuff came out and in the beginning bloomquist ran a little one and a big one then they figured out how to make the big one drive in the slick and he just ran the big one everywhere.
