Bobby Pierce? Why so fast?

I don't see anyone discrediting Bobby. Nobody's saying he's not a wheel man.
But Terry English and Donnie Moran are not going up and down the road with their boys let alone setting the car up. If you don't see Bob Sr. as a huge asset for Bobby, well I'll just leave it at that.

All of the mentioned builders have before and still can build bigger engines. I don't think their is anything magic about vics engines but the fact is he is building some of the biggest right now means Somthing. Now their have been a hand full of other drivers switch to vics stuff and then go back to their preferred combo. All your top builders can make a much power as you want it comes down to drivability and getting to the ground and for whatever reason Bobby has either found a way to do that or the power curve just fits him better than others. I remember when the roush/ yates stuff came out and in the beginning bloomquist ran a little one and a big one then they figured out how to make the big one drive in the slick and he just ran the big one everywhere.

And as I mentioned before, at about 2 HP per cubic inch of displacement, with all other things being equal, I will outrun you every time with the bigger engine; provided I am a wheelman like you. 25 more cubic inches larger means 50 more horsepower to play with........ Bobby is a wheelman, no doubt, but he's no better wheelman than say Davenport, Thornton, Moran and a few others.

Only time motor is a factor is during qualifying or maybe if track stays super tacky all through feature. Then tends to get rutted up and you have to pick your way around. Huge power ain't all it's cracked up to be.

You sure go to great lengths to argue with me. I only made a statement that Bobby is not the only one with a successful racing father in his corner. Most other top drivers he's outrunning also have very smart people in their pits.
Not long ago someone was on here saying that the Pierce cars were $hitboxes, now it's "Bobby is winning because his father is a hall of fame driver and chassis builder".

Of course Bob is an asset, but is it your belief that Bobby wouldn't be successful if Bob decides not to travel with him?

Below is the comment I was originally replying to..... Bob is the sole reason he's fast is the way I took it. I don't believe the statement to be reflective of everything it takes to be successful. Hall of fame fathers do not always produce hall of fame children. That's all I was trying to say.

Pierce gets his 37th and 38th win of the season this past weekend. He adds another 40,000 to his total for the year. Adding to an already impressive year.

I'm not sure the exact amount but, I know it's close to a Million in earnings. I went back and looked and he's at 1,042,610.00so far with 10 races left on his schedule for this year

Wouldn't be AS successful. Yes that is my belief.

And I'll still stand by the fact that nobody on a National level has a dlm Hall of Fame father as their crew chief setting the car up for every race.
