The place doesn’t need to race more than 3 times a year.

I just like that the racing last night proved everyone wrong (myself included).

side note: Chris Stepan announcing the show is the cherry on top. Dude is so underrated and one of the very best in the business imo.

They invested all that money into Pennsboro, and you are suggesting they only race there 3 times a year? What kind of investment is that? Only way to pay it off is to generate income. They gotta figure out what races can be profitable. Not making $$$ sitting idle.

Pennsboro never did race more than a handful of times per year. You have too many races and it dilutes the product. You can’t race weekley there. You don’t think the streaming revenue is paying for this stuff even at other places, and there hasn’t been THAT much money poured into it. The bleachers are rentals. The lights are rentals. The only thing new is the guard rail and some fence. I know what the guard rail cost. It’s probably already paid for.

I'd expressed concern about the guardrail being too far off the ground. Their cure, actually pretty clever, was to add banking to the track. So far so good. But the real racing is still to come.

A track comes back to life and people dissing it. I'm headed back to Pennsboro tonight and wearing this years East Bay shirt for the irony. Support your local track and the local businesses.

Stands look absolutely empty. They’ll probably have more people the first two nights but $35-$50 for a crappy 25 lap, 27 Garfield super late model feature is not worth the admission price.

Scheduling against Bedford’s big show, which is just a couple hours up the road was a poor decision. There’s a few cars at Bedford that probably would have hit Pennsboro if they were on different weekends. Those PA flatter half mile racers would be right at home on Pennsboro.

If this was in my neck of the woods, I'd go just for the nostalgia of it. No way it could be any worse than some of the sleepers I've seen this year.

Atomic Speedway running there night of champions tonight didn't help matters. Heard that all the permitting process to work on the bridges has already been fast tracked thru the WV agencies. Time will tell.

My take on the driver interviews is, they all staying kinda vague about how they feel about it. Trying to not kill it early. Let's see how a longer race goes. With the speed differentials, will be carnage at some point. If everyone walks away, maybe not any worse than Eldora for that. Couldn't believe Bloomer was essentially uninjured from that last wreck.

Without prior commitments, I'd probably been there at least for tonight. Just to see the place again.

A friend sent me a picture of a porta-john that met its fate. I'm sure we all could have seen one that coming.

Bedford and Atomic are not the reason the car count is so horrible. Bedford is mostly regional locals. A handful of those cars would’ve went to Pennsboro.

The national drivers are absolutely not supporting XR despite the huge payoff. Why do those drivers avoid the series?

They've had difficulty getting races in. Cancelled some without a great explanation. My guess, most just don't trust them.
