Honestly it depends on the track, but at a typical Lucas or WoO show they wet the track way way more then normal then the track normally does for a weekly show so locals usually never see that condition.Originally posted by riddle28 View Post
ah gotcha. how much hp do you need on smaller tracks now? 3/8 or less
The times I been to the little track at davenport, man you better have a motor. When that place is wet, you need every bit of a big wide bore motor. At many places 3/8 or smaller and your under 850HP your likely to not qualify in the top half of your group no matter how good your car is.

I can give you an example of a decent size 3/8 track (1880 feet if running the bottom of the track).
We had an issue with big motor car and used back up car with SB2 motor at WoO show
Qualifying
WoO show 810HP 410SB2 (3) LM 20's and LM40 RR
our qualifying time 16.4
Marlar was fast time at 15.75 new track record)
Several months later at same track just big motor:
Region series show 438 wide bore (3) LM 30's and LM 40 RR
We was fast time at 15.90
Track will really close to the same for qualifying both nights, if I had to say WoO may been slightly better that nightLast edited by billetbirdcage; 10-29-2024, 01:15 PM.
