Sniper Chassis and Brucebilt Performance have been partners for a few years now. Bruce Nunnally and his team have been building our Sniper Chassis going on 3 years now.

Bruce and Ricky have come together to work with Team Zero Race Cars Customers to support with parts, repairs, chassis updates and keep those Bloomquist Cars on the track.

I'm curious about the updating process. So you would be getting Bruce & Ricky's thoughts on what the chassis needs?

Not to be a jerk, but how many chassis has Ricky actually sold under his Sniper brand working with Brucebuilt? On the other hand, it seems like Cory Hedgec*ck has sold quite a few of his BMF Race Cars with the same arrangement with Bruce........

Still holding on to a comment made by Scott several years ago about Ricky not selling one car? If that comment had any merit (even from the beginning) there wouldn't be such a thing as a Sniper chassis. It has been amazing watching the zero fans cling to drivers when they were tight with Scott, but they were immediately the scum of the earth once the partnerships were dissolved.

There's a market needing served and he can serve it. Simple economics. They have jigs for the components. Advice, you can't ask Scott

Sniper is more like Missed it.... Not a competitive chassis and Weiss has sucked every since he decided to build "his own" chassis.

I was under the impression that the McDowell's were going to manage and develop the Team Zero program.

I heard the jigs were at Barry Wright's and that Scott had made a similar deal with Barry like he had with Randy Sweet, to have his cars produced for him, but to his own specs. I imagine the McDowell's are gonna do what they have to, to survive. As to Sniper deal, perhaps they couldn't resist doing some tweaks to the recipe and the cookies just didn't come out as well. Or Weiss without Bloomer input just isn't up to doing his own thinking... Perhaps some of the "magic" in Scott's cars aren't readily visible, he always preached how finding speed was done in small increments collectively, not in one major swing. If you look at his front clips he has so much more bracing and support brackets than you see in most "store bought" cars. I've never seen a Sniper stripped down to compare, but I could see from a manufacturing stand point some of Scott's details being left off and not understanding why he had put them in. Here are some 2014 Sweet/Bloomquist pics. to see my point. Bloomer didn't use aluminum j-bar frame sliders, he made his car more like a Rayburn with spuds welded into the tubing, just as an example. To me the Zero chassis is the anti-thesis of what GRT use to be... JMO

I was told that the McDowell's bought the Team Zero Chassis (brand or rights) a year ago. Which would make me think they would be the one's moving forward there. Not Weiss and Bruce.

you are correct : the jigs are at Barry Wright’s Shop. ( for now)
He wanted the final say as to where they went.

his cars were built much more rigid than other makes- because of his driving style. They didn’t flex near as much because his belief was if you’re sideways in the turns- you are not going forward.
Many couldn’t get comfortable in his cars because of their own driving styles.
Jimmy Owens and McDowell have similar driving techniques.
FWIW: Jimmy’s last few races were in a self built car (2 more being built) that are very similar to the Bloomquist- especially in the front arrangement.

Weiss and Bruce can offer service to anyone they want. It's up to the customer to decide, if multiple options wind up existing.
