We at Portsmouth Raceway Park want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. After 34 years with the best co workers, sponsors, fans and drivers, we have decided not to open in the 2025 season. We will see what the future holds at a later date. Thank you everyone for all your kindness and support over the years

Wow, that is some really bad news. Especially for the local fans who lived there every Saturday night for many years. This track had a weekly Late model program with one of the best field of true lates and maybe the best weekly purse anywhere for them. But i'st getting harder to keep a car count as the big series pays enough to allow many drivers to hit the road now, and the ones that don't are few and can dominate the racing. I made the 245 mile drive to this track 4 times all together and even the nights the track was slick and one lane inside we always had a good time. It's a special place. Spring time flooding keeps the track from open way up into May and then the cleanup expenses and keep the track surface back in order sometimes makes running the place more difficult. Add some timely rain outs to big events and you can have a season that's hard to profit from.
