Who will be running Cherokee in Gaffney, SC for 2025? Seems there has been some changes since the fire.

Well, there was a fire in the concession stand and the announcers and scorers upstairs had to bail. The fire department was called and the fire extinguished but apparently, extensive damage to the building. The guy running the place after Childress departed (can't recall his name) maybe didn't want to spend the repair money or something of that nature and the Buff family has the track back. That's the way I understand it. May or may not be fact.

Yes, there will be a 2025 March Madness, still apart of the Cherokee Chief mini-series. Same original date. Should have more info out within the next week or two on that.

For Immediate Release: Cherokee Speedway is pleased to announce that Chandra McGinnis and Jay Owens will be stepping in as the new promoters for the 2025 season. They are working tirelessly to get things in order for what is shaping up to be an amazing racing season!

“We are in the process of getting the schedule locked down and getting all the business aspects set up. We’re working closely with Lennie, Seth and Zack Buff to get the grandstand concession rebuilt and redesigned. Crews have already been cleaning the property because there’s lots of work to be done in that area also.” said Chan.

“Discussions are in progress with the Joiners at Hunt The Front on the “Cherokee Chief Super Late Model Challenge Series” and we hope to pin down the final details with them soon. There is so much to do in a short amount of time but we are up to the task and are excited about the 2025 season.” said Jay

Lastly, we wish the best to Tony Adair in his retirement! Thanks for all you did for Cherokee Speedway in your years with the track. We know Beverly and Taylor are tickled to have you home.

Thank you Henry Every for posting the information. I hope they do well. Cherokee is one of a handful of tracks that if you put on a race, they will come; sort of like the Field of Dreams. I can't imagine money can't be made promoting this track.
